April update

Upgrades upgrade upgrades, we are still listening and working on the site. Although you won't see many changes there is a lot of the admin side of things and also for Employers and Recruiters that we have updated. Our biggest challenge is the sheer amount of webpages from the old website that we still need to convert to our CMS system! At present we are probably at about 25% of the original content but pushing forward and moving it over, updating and checking it. We have some great new ideas that we want to add as well, but it's just a case of getting back to capacity and adding them. Hopefully the next version of the site should be online soon(tm!) Have you taken the 2010 MBA salary survey? After the huge success of the 2003 survey, we are now following up with a 2010 survey, so PLEASE click here to take the survey.

Site upgrade

We have put up the next version of the website today and would like to thank all of you for your feedback todate. This latest verison has saveral improvements under the hood, a host of new features and much better back end administration for us.
Already we have serveral new recruters/employers waiting to come onboard, and have introduced 3rd party jobs, via rss feeds, to help you centralise all your job searching. The shop is now back online with a limited product selection while we update some of the ebooks and materials. Currently payment is via Paypal only with the Netbanx intergration due soon. So would your CV past the 30second test
As always your feedback is very much welcome as we want to build the website to be so much more than a jobs board. What features do we need? Contact us!

Site progress

We hope to role out the next upgrade of the website in the following week. This will enable us to re-open the shop for CV reviews/Ebook downloads and more. We have had a couple of emails asking us about jobs on the site, however during this redevelopment stage, there are no native jobs being listed. So this update will also incorporate 3rd party jobs via RSS feeds, allowing you to search and be alerted on jobs from a wide range of other sources. And in the next few weeks further improvements will be made before we add native jobs to the website.

Hopefully no one has found any errors on the site yet, it has been quiet a large task and has involved us rewriting the whole site from scratch. The site has been written on the CodeIgnitor engine creating a very stable system for us. The site will also get some further updates, including a search facility and we intend to build this up as an MBA network. If you have any ideas, problems, criticism, or even praise, PLEASE feel free to contact us and let us know.

MBA Job Outlook Improving (Business week)

Recruiters are skittish and the job market is more competitive than ever, but career services directors say 2010 may be the year of the turnaround.

This year's class of MBAs arrived on campus in September expecting a challenging fall recruiting season and now many are bracing themselves for an even tougher spring ahead. One of them is Aashini Shah, an MBA student looking for a job in the entertainment industry, who is feeling the pressure because most movie studios and entertainment companies don't hire until the spring. To get an edge, she's spent every spare moment she has networking with alumni, going on informational interviews, and keeping in touch with the contacts she made last summer, she says.

"It is slightly nerve-wracking now in the sense that there are only going to be so many positions available and that there are many people from the class of '09 that are still unemployed," says Shah, 29, a second-year student at the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business (Marshall Full-Time MBA Profile), who interned at Disney (DIS) last summer. "Not only will you be vying with your own classmates, but you are vying with the class behind you for the same job."

Progress!

Well data conversion seemed to run well, bar one minor issue, but I won't go into details. However the site is now running well in the new relaunch beta phase. Feedback has been good and all comments are welcome! We are of course still adding old content, and some new, and are working to bring back the services and ebook we have to offer.

There are many new features we wish to bring in to the website but as is so often the case we are only human and can only go at human speed.

New site - 5th Feb 2010

It has not been without it's problems, but on Friday we will be launching with the new MBAmatch website. We won't be quite at full power, and there is a lot of content to move over still. However we will be open to ideas, suggestions and improvements we can make on the website.

This involves a large amount of data conversion, as well as host and DNS modifications, but all going well there should be no major downtime. We do intend over the following few months to make further improvements and extend the MBAmatch network so stick close!
